Brandon Jacobs wants to stay at Giants but would consider Jets
Brandon Jacobs desires to quit as a NY Giant and is available to the idea of restructuring his agreement for a second straight year as long as it is “equitable.”
The New York Giants have to pick a choice this month on Jacobs, who is due a $500,000 roster bonus and is booked to make $4.4 million in the final year of his agreement. “As long as it is equal,” Jacobs asserted of altering his agreement again. “I just desire all to be equitable. I believe a bit like I put plenty of difficult work and dedication into what I do as well and whatever their decisions are to try to maintain me around here, hopefully we are able to get it discussed and get things figured out because here’s where I would like to be.”
Jacobs, who turns 30 year old in July, asserted the Giants didn’t give him any indication as regards what their plan is for him after winning the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots. 105 discount juice
“I wish things can go excellent to where I can continue to be a Giant,” he announced. “I started with the Giants; I would like to finish with them.”
“As a franchise, they’ve been doing these things for years and they know what they have to do if they’d like to keep me around and really I want to be around,” he continued. “I wish to retire as a Giant. Those men have been working in the business long ample to know what they have to do in order to make it happen.”
Jacobs dashed for 571 yards – his lowest rushing total since his 2nd season (2006) in the league – and 7 touchdowns this past season. He missed 2 games thanks to a knee wound and only received 5 more carries than he probably did the season before.
Jacobs, though, feels fresh and stated that he goes into the offseason not requiring any kind of surgery.
“I don’t need any offseason work,” he announced. “I feel a bit like a newly born baby. (The Giants trainers) do an excellent job of looking after their players. I feel awesome right now.”
Jacobs also said he was encouraged by what he saw from the Giants running game as the season progressed. While the Giants finished last in rushing in the NFL in the regular season, the team gained has a grand total of 100 yards or more in 4 of the last 5 regular season games and surged for a total of 172 yards versus Atlanta in wild card win.
“As a team, (we) had 2 different players on the line that we didn’t really know, as backs, what their powerful points and what’s their weak points and where you are going and how they get there and a lot of other things,” Jacobs declared. “Things started coming together for us at the end of the season. Whatever occurs next year, I suspect we are going to be far better in that grade.”
