Bet types
Straight
The most common type of sports wager is on the final score of a single game, known as a straight wager. One team is typically favored over another by a point spread; the favorite gives the underdog points as a head start, for betting purposes. The favorite is always indicated by a minus sign (-3) and the underdog by a plus sign (+3). The amount of points you must give or take is estimated to be the amount, which will generate equal wagering on both the underdog and the favorite. For betting purposes, the result of the game is determined by taking the actual score and subtracting points from the favorite’s score or adding points to the underdog’s score. So, a favorite can win the actual game but lose the bet by not covering the spread; an underdog can lose the actual game but win for betting purposes by covering the spread.
Totals
You can also bet whether the combined number of points or goals scored by the two teams in the game will be over or under the total set by the oddsmaker. For example, if the total is 42 and you believe that the combined points scored by the two teams will exceed that number, you would bet over. You would bet under if you believe the total points score will be less than 42.
Money Line
A money line is used in addition to or instead of a point spread on a match up between two teams. In this case, you must bet more to wager on the favorite. For example, the New York Yankees are a -150 favorite over the Colorado Rockies. You must “lay” $150 in order to win $100. If New York loses, you lose $150. However, you could bet on Colorado, in which case you would lay $100 in order to win $140 (10 cent line). If Colorado loses, you only lose $100, and if Colorado wins, you would win $140. LowVig.ag offers both money line and point spread options on most sports.
Parlay
A parlay is a bet on two or more teams or selections. You can combine different sports, point spreads and money lines. In a parlay your original stake and winnings are re-invested on the next game and all selections must be correct – one loss and your parlay loses. In the event of a push (tie), game cancellation or a pitcher that you have specified not starting, the parlay reduces to the next lower number, e.g. a four-team parlay becomes a three-team parlay. A winning parlay wager will pay many times more than the initial wager.

NOTES: In the event that a three-or-more-team parlay results in a tie, it will reduce the wager to the next lowest payoff. For example, a four-team parlay will become a three-team parlay, and a three-team parlay will become a two-team parlay. For wagering purposes, two-team parlays where there is a tie will be paid off as a straight wager.
*All parlays will pay up to a maximum of $150,000. However, the maximum amount a player may win in any 24 hour period is $150,000.
In a parlay, you may not play both sides of the same game. If you play both sides of the same game, any winning wagers on the game will be canceled.
For example:
Denver Broncos 32 1/2
New England Patriots -3
If you play New England Patriots in a parlay, we ask you not to play Denver Broncos in another parlay, likewise if you play over 32 1/2 in one parlay we ask you not to play under 32 1/2 in another parlay.
Combination Baseball Payoffs
Decimal Conversion Chart
Because of the money line used in baseball, there are no set payoffs for tying a number of teams together in parlays. Payoffs are determined by a simple formula that changes the money line into a decimal number and combines it with the other lines in the parlay.
The first step is to change the money line into its decimal value. Use the following chart for this purpose.

Calculating Baseball Parlays
For each PRICE or ODDS quote on your teams, look at their respective PAYOFFS above (to $1) and always add $1 to these payoffs.
Multiply your BET by the products of these payoffs (+$1) for your parlay return.

Teasers
A Teaser is a bet on two or more teams or selections. The difference between a teaser and a parlay is that in a teaser YOU ADJUST (tease) THE LINE IN YOUR FAVOR.
For example: If New England Patriots are favored by seven points in one game and the Buffalo Bills are favored by 10 points in a second game. A six-point, two-team teaser would adjust the point spread six points in your favor; i.e. New England would now be favored by one point (7 – 6 = 1) and Buffalo would now be favored by four points (10 – 6 = 4).
You could make a two-team, six-point teaser bet with Buffalo and New England. In this example are betting that Buffalo will win by more than four points (10 – 6 = 4) and New England will win by more than one point ( 7 – 6 = 1). In the case of a tie or push in a two-team teaser, your wager is refunded. ANY LOSS IN A TEASER CONSTITUTES A LOSS FOR THE ENTIRE WAGER.
A tie or push in a three-to-seven team teaser will reduce the wager to the next lowest level. i.e. a six-team teaser with a push becomes a five-team teaser.

Future
A future bet is a wager on an event or outcome that will be determined sometime in the future. For example, it might be a bet made at the start of the season on the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl. Future odds change continuously throughout the season – YOU GET THE ODDS IN EFFECT AT THE TIME YOU BET. Future bets often have high odds.
If – Win (Single Action)
An If-Win Only wager is an excellent choice for money management. You wager a fixed amount on one team if that team wins the game only, then another fixed amount, up to the original amount shall be placed on your next team. Your first wager must win in order for you to have action on the remaining wagers. If the first wager loses, there is No Action thereafter. You cannot have duplicate teams in the same If Win Tie Cancel.

An If-Bet wager is also an excellent choice for money management. You wager a fixed amount on one team, and if that team wins, ties, or is cancelled, then another fixed amount, up to the original amount shall be placed on your next team. Your first wager must win, tie, or be cancelled in order for you to have action on the remaining wagers. If the first wager loses, there is No Action thereafter. Reverses
A Reverse wager is the same as two “If Win” bets. If wager A wins, the bet goes to wager B. If B wins, the bet goes to wager A. If wager A loses, the bet does not go to wager B. If wager B loses, the bet does not go to wager A. If wager A wins, the bet goes to wager B and if wager B loses, the bet does not go to wager A. Standard reverse bets are Double Action; therefore in the event of a tie the bet is still active.

The wager is reduced according to how many players tie and is then applied to the full odds with the remainder of the stake deemed as lost.
- For example:
- You wager $100 at odds of +200 and 2 players tie for the same position.
Half the stake is lost -$50
The other half wins and is paid the same odds. So $50 wins at +200
- If 3 players tie for the same position then:
Two thirds of the stake is lost -$66.66
The remaining third $33.33 wins.
Please note this rule does not apply to two player matchups where a tie results in a push.

- If either fighter fails to answer the bell for the next round then his opponent will be deemed to have won in the previous round.
- In the event of a fight being declared a ‘No Contest’ all bets will be void and stakes returned, with the exception of markets where the outcome has already been determined.
- If the scheduled length of the match is changed, all prior wagers on the number of rounds of the bout will be graded as ‘No Action’.

- If the wagering offer on a match includes the draw as a third option and the match ends in a draw, wagers on the draw will be paid while wagers on either fighter will be lost. If the wagering offer includes only the two boxers — with the draw either not offered or offered as a separate proposition — and the match ends in a draw, wagers on either fighter will be refunded.
In situations not covered by the previous rules, the wagering decision announced by the Don Best Sports information service will be considered official and binding.
For any instances not discussed here, Las Vegas wagering rules apply.
Auto Racing Rules
- If for any reason a race is delayed or postponed, action for all wagers will remain for 48 hours. In the event that the delay should last more than 48 hours, all wagers are cancelled and the stakes refunded.
- Bets on Formula One (F1), NASCAR, Motor and Auto races are decided by the podium position on the day of the prize-giving for the particular event; any changes in position after this time are not considered for settling purposes.
- The driver you are wagering on must complete one lap for action. If two drivers abandon the race after completing the same number of laps, the respective head-to-head is deemed void; otherwise the driver who completes the most laps will be deemed the winner if both drivers fail to finish the race. To win the race, at least 60 per cent of the starting field must start the race for action.
NASCAR Qualifiers:
- For qualifying match-ups, only the times posted during the qualifying session are used.
- Disqualifications occurring more than 30 minutes after the qualifying session has ended are not recognized for wagering purposes.
- Wagering lines on qualifying match-ups will be considered closed at the start of the first practice. Any wagers made after the start of the first practice session will be graded as No Action and all monies refunded.
- To Qualify In Pole Position: All in compete or not. Bets settled on the driver who is announced as qualifying on pole immediately following the end of the qualifying session. Any subsequent demotion or disqualification would not affect the result.
- Fastest Lap: Bets settled on the driver who is officially declared to have completed the fastest lap of the race.
Formula 1:
- Wagers on a driver will be in effect if, and only if, the driver lines up on the official starting grid after the warm-up lap.
- The podium positions will be used to determine first, second and third for betting purposes. All results for Formula One bets are governed by the FIA’s classification at the time of the podium presentation.
- In head-to-head match-ups, both drivers must start the race for the wager to be considered “action”.
Motorbike Racing
- Riders in place for the start of the warm up lap for race 1 are deemed as runners for race.
- Any riders withdrawing from race 2 after race 1 will be deemed losers for settlement of race 2.
For any instances not discussed here, Las Vegas wagering rules apply.
Rugby
Rugby League and Rugby Union
- Unless otherwise stated, all Rugby wagers will be decided on regulation time only (80 minutes plus any time added on for stoppages).
- Rugby uses a three-way moneyline which includes the draw (tie) as a wagering option.
- Spreads and Totals for Rugby are regular two-way lines.
- Should a game be abandoned or postponed for any reason and is not completed within 24 hours of the scheduled start time then all wagers will be considered void.
- In the event of a change of venue, bets will stand providing the change isn’t to the opponent’s ground. In this instance bets will be void.
- The home team is always listed on top.
Soccer Rules
- All Soccer games are listed with the home team on top unless otherwise stated.
- Unless otherwise stated all Soccer wagers for the period of the game are for regulation time only (90 minutes plus any time added on for stoppages) and do not include periods of extra time (overtime) or penalty shootouts.
- Soccer uses a three-way moneyline which includes the Draw (tie) as a wagering option.
- Regular spreads and totals as well as Asian Handicap spreads and totals are offered. We only accept straight bets on Asian Handicap lines. (Please see below for a detailed explanation of how Asian Handicaps work)
- If a game is abandoned or postponed for any reason, all wagers will stand provided the game is played or re-started within 24 hours of the original kickoff time. If the game is not player or re-started within 24 hours then all wagers will be considered void with the exception of 1st half wagers if they have already been settled.
- The only exception to the above rule is if the relevant governing body deems an abandoned match to be completed and declares the result to stand. Then we will settle all wagers as normal provided at least 80 minutes has been played.
- In the event of a change of venue, all wagers will stand providing the change isn’t to the away team’s home ground in which case all wagers will be void.
- Any prop bets such as number of corners, yellow cards or first goalscorer will be settled according to information on the official website of the relevant league or competition.
- All soccer future bets have action unless otherwise stated.
Asian Handicap Soccer Spreads and Totals
In addition to regular full or half point spreads and totals, Asian Handicaps also use quarter point lines. Therefore a spread line of -0.75 would be written as -½ ,-1. What this effectively does is to split your single bet in half, applying half to the -½ handicap and half to the -1 handicap.
For example:
You wager $110 to win $100 on Manchester United -½ ,-1 and they win 2-1. You win $50 as you’ve won the half of your bet at -½ but only pushed the half of the bet at -1.
Totals work in the same way, so a total of 2.25 is written as 2, 2½.
In another example let’s say Manchester United win 2-0 and you’ve wagered $110 to win $100 on Over 2, 2½. This time you lose $55 as you push the total of 2 but lose on the 2½. If the final score would have been 2-1 for a total of 3 goals then you’d win $100 as you win both parts of the bet.
Live Soccer Wagering Rules
- All Live Soccer lines are for the period of the entire game from start to finish and will be graded on the final score at the end of regulation time. The game score when the wager is placed is irrelevant.
- Overtime (extra time) periods and penalties are not included unless otherwise stated.
- Lines will be offered at linesmakers discretion. We cannot guarantee a line at any point during the game and will not offer lines when there is a ‘danger ball’ situation such as a corner kick or free kick.
- We reserve the right to cancel any live wager where the line is obviously wrong.
- Our normal soccer rules will apply in the event of an abandonment or postponement.
Tennis Rules

- Unless specifically stated tennis spreads and totals refer to the number of games.
- The full match must also be completed for any prop bets to have action with the exception of 1st set bets if it has already been completed.
- If a match is suspended or postponed for any reason, all wagers will stand provided the match is played or re-started within 72 hours of the original start time.

Parlay Rules
All parlays will pay up to a maximum of $150,000. However, the maximum amount a player may win in any 24 hour period is $150,000.
In a parlay, you may not play both sides of the same game at LowVig.ag. If you play both sides of the same game, any winning wagers on the game will be canceled.
MMA, boxing, golf and racing (e.g., NASCAR) cannot be included in a parlay. Proposition bets/futures cannot be included in parlays.
Cricket Rules
Test Matches
Wagers will be settled on the official result providing at least one ball has been bowled. In the event of a tie dead heat rules will apply and wagers on the draw will be deemed losers.
Please note a Tie is not the same as a Draw.
A Tie will occur when all four innings have been completed and both teams have the exact same score – (This has only happened twice in the history of test match cricket.)
A Draw will occur if all four innings have not been completed at the end of the five days play regardless of the score.
Limited Over Matches
Wagers will be settled on the official result including:
- Weather affected games where the result has been determined by the Duckworth Lewis method.
- Games that are decided by a Super Over or a Bowl Out.
In the event of a Tie all wagers will be graded as a push provided a super over or bowl out has not occurred.
Games decided by the toss of a coin will be deemed void and all wagers graded as a push.
In games where a reserve day is used all wagers will stand and carry over to the reserve day.

Autralian Football Rules
- In the event of a match being tied after normal time (80 minutes play) and no overtime being declared the match betting result is a ‘push’ and all stakes are refunded.
- If overtime is declared match betting will be settled on the result in overtime. If that is tied the result will revert to a ‘push’.
- All other markets are settled on 80 minutes play.
- Abandoned or postponed games are void unless played within 48 hours.
- All settlements are based on results and statistics provided by the relevant league’s governing body
- We reserve the right to suspend any or all betting on a game at any time without notice.
Snooker Rules

Moneyline Wagers

Totals and Spreads
If the statutory number of frames in a game are not completed or are changed all wagers will be void. In the event of a disqualification or retirement all wagers will be void.
Multiple Sessions
Some Snooker games take place over multiple sessions of play. We may offer updated odds in between sessions which will be for the entire game, not the individual session.
Darts Rules
Tournament Winner
